Unlike the last Santa Fe hotel up for auction that Business First reported on, which was a unique resort and spa south of the city, this one is a big brand name.
The four-story, 130-room DoubleTree by Hilton hotel, located at 4048 Cerrillos Road in Santa Fe, is listed on Auction.com for a starting bid of $2.2 million. The hotel’s assets are fairly standard, with a restaurant, gym, pool, meeting rooms and event spaces.
It’s owned by The Hotel Group, which is a Washington state-based hotel management company with 30 properties in 10 states, according to its website. This is the company’s only hotel in New Mexico, which means if the auction is a success, it will be out of the market.
The California office of Cushman & Wakefield and Rob Powell with Albuquerque-based Allen Sigmon Real Estate Group have the listing. Allen Sigmon said it has a longstanding relationship with Cushman & Wakefield on New Mexico hotel assets.
The hotel is a bit older, built in 1985, but underwent a multimillion-dollar renovation when it was converted into the DoubleTree brand.
The online auction is scheduled to begin March 21 and end March 23.
