Allen Sigmon Real Estate Group and Provident Realty with other investors, is breaking ground on a 20,000-square-foot retail development in Los Lunas this week.
The development, called The Shops @ Los Lunas, will bring new retailers to the Valencia County village.
While it used to be that retailers opened in south Albuquerque and attracted Los Lunas residents to drive north, now retailers are headed further south to capture those dollars. The city has attracted national brands and franchisees, including Buffalo Wild Wings, Petsmart, Applebees and Planet Fitness, which is under construction now.
The retail center will be located on Main Street SW as part of the Lowe’s shopping center. Tenants include Famous Footwear, Rue 21, Hibbett Sports and the women’s clothing brand Maurices.
The development group, under Los Lunas Investors LLC, includes the principals of Allen Sigmon, including Lance Sigmon, Brad Allen, Jeff Martinez and Rob Powell. The group partnered with John Hamilton and Jane Pilger of Provident Realty, an Albuquerque-based commercial real estate company. Other entities include architect Rick Bennett, contractor Aaron Bennett of Vision Build, and Century Bank.
The Shops @ Los Lunas is expected to be completed by the end of June.
