Allen Sigmon Team Attends ICSC 2017, Conducts a Year’s Worth of Business in Just 24 Hours
Allen Sigmon Real Estate Leadership attended ICSC 2017. The International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) helps advance the shopping center industry and promote its role in the commercial distribution of consumer goods and services. The Allen Sigmon team learned more about shopping center development and made multiple industry connections, which will translate to the success of some of the investments they’re working on in New Mexico. Members in attendance were Allen Sigmon principals Brad Allen and Lance Sigmon, and vice president Jeff Martinez.
“ICSC is a gauge for how the retail economy is doing around the world,” said Lance Sigmon. “It helps facilitate economic development across the business spectrum and allows all players in the commercial real estate industry (ie developers, tenants, brokers, buyers, sellers, financial institutions, etc.) to meet at one time, in one place, and make deals happen.” ICSC 2017 was held in Las Vegas. More than 37,000 attendees represented 58 countries. It’s the world’s largest retail real estate convention, running from May 21st-24th. Keynote speakers were notable experts in asset management and property development.
This is the fourth time Allen Sigmon Real Estate Group attended ICSC. They used this year’s event to generate excitement for two development projects that have broken ground – NMSU Heritage Farm and MVD Westside at Eagle Vista.
Closure was the biggest accomplishment and takeaway for Sigmon. “We were able to meet and finalize things with individuals whom we had been trying to communicate with for months. Also, we created some new relationships. We look forward to new partnerships with these retailers in the future.”
