Meet the Team: David Miles – Director of Marketing
David Miles joined the Allen Sigmon team in 2017 after spending over six years developing marketing strategies for a number of local businesses. He has experience in a variety of industries, including construction, information technology, and advertising.
David enjoys helping businesses and entrepreneurs grow to reach their full potential through planning, strategizing, and implementing best practices for brand recognition. He is an Albuquerque native-born and raised – who spends his time helping to improve the local community. He joined the Allen Sigmon Real Estate Group because he is passionate about development in Albuquerque and the surrounding areas.
In 2007, David graduated from the University of New Mexico with a BA in English and Communications.

What excites you about the New Mexico Commercial Real Estate market? I think that New Mexico is a hidden gem. We offer a lot that other states and markets don’t. Companies like Facebook, Google, and Netflix are starting to operate here. I think this is due to New Mexico having lower costs of living, wide-open areas, no natural disasters, a unique culture, great food, etc. All of this is appealing to business owners. Covid kind of put a damper on some of the excitement coming down the pike, but I believe that we are going to see a lot of great things happen in the next 2-3 years.
How do you market commercial real-estate? The most important thing is understanding your audience. Finding the right tenant for a property where their business can thrive. We have commercial properties all over New Mexico and we want to find tenants that will succeed and be prosperous at our properties. If our tenants are successful then we are successful. The best way to do that is to paint an honest portrayal of our listings. I do that by talking with our listing brokers, understanding the product, creating marketing materials that highlight the space’s strengths, and blasting it to potential tenants or buyers. Commercial marketing really is customer service oriented, and to be successful you need to have that mindset with everything you do.
What are your favorite projects to work on?
I really enjoy working on the new developments that Allen Sigmon knock out from the ground up. I take great pride in promoting projects like the NMSU Courtyard Marriott
and the Uptown Tower
. It’s exciting writing the press releases for something that will take years to complete because you are there every step of the way. It starts with an idea and takes off. I love that part of the job because after the grand opening you feel a sense of accomplishment.
What kind of personal hobbies do you enjoy? What do you do in your free time? I have a beautiful wife and 3 wonderful boys. My family is my world and everything I do is for them. My favorite thing to do is movie nights, playing basketball with the fam, going on date nights, all the cool family stuff. I also am a big fan of football and basketball, so rooting for my favorite teams is always fun.
